Mission Statement: The Weston Against Cancer Committee is committed to raising money for cancer research while leading activities for the community that promote a healthy lifestyle.

To give some background about this committee, the leaders (and many committee members) were members of past years’ Relay For Life committees. The American Cancer Society changed the structure of its organization and wanted to reduce overhead costs so that a higher percentage of money could go towards research; as a result, unfortunately, they could no longer support as many Relay events, and Weston’s (while profitable) no longer fit in the ACS budget. Instead of stopping there, though, we have formed a new committee to create a fresh, new event that we hope the town of Weston will love. Because of our experience leading fundraisers, we look to hit the ground running in the inaugural year of Weston Against Cancer.

We have two main goals: fundraising for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (while giving a small portion of proceeds back to our generous host, Lachat Town Farm) and creatively educating people of all ages about healthy living.
